Help with year of mercury thunderbolt 50hp

Is there a place on the web to look up the year a motor was manufactured? I have a 50hp Mercury Thunderbolt sn 3718205...Also can a manual for just this motor be purchased? My dad and I have used this motor for over 20 years. He passed away and left it to me, we have have never had any work done to it other than sparkplugs...so I would like to know where I could find parts...I have checked at a couple of none dealer boat repair shops. They told me the parts were hard to come by....thanks J. Hightowere :confused:

that a good page now all i need is to <br />find a 50 65 80 hp mercury in the late 60's<br />and early 70<br />rex
