Weak spark 1&2 cyls 50hp Merc.

I have an early 80's 50 hp Merc inline 4 electric ignition. It has weak spark in 1&2. 3&4 are fine. I have swapped HT leads and they are OK. I would think it unlikely 2 coils would fail at the same time. Can I test the switchbox with a DVM or do I need the Quikcksilver really extravagant ignition analyzer ? Or should I be looking at the stator ? Where should I begin ?

Odds are it's the switchbox, but the only way to really check it is with a peak reading voltage meter.

Tx Trent. It will start and run but only on 2 cyl. lakensea, anw box was installed abt 18 months ago. Will I fry my regular DVM if using it to test this ?
