This Spring I bought a 1996 Robalo 1820 CC with a 150Hp Mercury Offshore series outboard. The boat/motor combo is pretty heavy (2800 lbs). The power head was replaced by Mercury in September of 2001.While under way, the engine stalls about a third of the way into the rpm range (about 1500rpm). The engine starts back up immediately. But this happens most of the time unless I gun the engine. Also, at wide open throttle, I'm only producing about 4700rpm. The manual says WOT should be between 5000 and 5600.Any thoughts? Is my prop over pitched?I appreciate any comment.
captcharlie, Is the fuel filter clogged?Fuel restriction? What size prop is on your Robalo?Over a 19 pitch would be too much....17 pitch may be better...If you make a prop change, watch those RPM's.
