Mercury Sport Jet 90 Red Stator Adaptor

Guys,

Have 94 Merc Sport Jet 90.

How do you troubleshoot the adaptor between the red stator and the switch box?

All leads are grounded on mine.

What the heck does this box do? I see that it converts the green/white & white/green wires to one blue wire and a ground.

Any info will help. Ken

Does anyone know what this thing does?

I have 180v out of stator, but checking wire after the adaptor only give 35 volts.

Is this a big step down transformer?

What it the DVA volts supposed to be after the adaptor on the wire going to the switch box?
