the problem started when i lent my boat to my <br />brother (never mixed the gas) i replaced the<br />power head with a used one i got from a salvage dealer in ok got every thing together and found the fireing order was differnt swapped 2 & 3 plug wires and got it running<br />now it starts good and runs ok out of the water put when in the water if i put in gear it dies or will only run at lower rpms at higher rpms it dies took it to a shop charged me $52 and still the same problem he said he checked ign. timeing , and compression all good what could be wrong?

Hi Allen,<br />Is there water on the spark plugs?<br />Are the plugs all the same color? Or is one washed clean?<br />Do both carbs open up all the way?<br />If you squeeze the primer bulb will the motor run?<br />One other thing the powerhead you got is a 65HP (fire order).The base gasket might not be right or the base from your 70 doesn't match up with the 65.<br />...good luck...corm
