I have a 2002 Merc 90 HP 4-stroke that runs quiet and smooth ( Yamaha power head), however I have noticed one thing that may or may not be a problem. At low RPM (1000-2000) the Merc lower unit makes a harmonic bearing noise, above 2000 RPM the noise goes away. Has anyone had this problem or heard of it?

THERE IS A SPECIAL PROP THAT YOU CAN RUN ON THIS ENGINE IT HAS A RUBBER HUB INSTEAD OF THE SOLID PLASTIC TOURQE FLO HUB. IT IS A GRAY IN COLOR TO IDENTIFY THAT IT HAS A RUBBER HUB. ASK YOUR SELLING DEALER ABOUT THIS PROP THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN CAN NOT REMEMBER # BUT IF NOT THE NOISE IS NORMAL JUST HARMONICS.

Mercman, Thanks for info, engine has a Merc prop on it right now, 11" pitch put on at dealer which I argued was too small. Bought a 13" from him as spare--has plastic your talking about. If you come across service buletin no. please let me know. Also is this prop your talking about sold by Merc, Michigan Wheel, or? The props I have now are aluminum Thanks Again
