89 mariner 40 water comming out arround top spark plug

when I put the muffs on and run it with the cover off water comes out arround top spark plug when I remove plug it looks good and there seems to be a gasket in there. I have not worked on outboards before how is the head on this unit does the head have removeable domes in it. Because it looks like the water is comming out between the two surfaces and the gasket is all dried and cracked. The head is not cracked in the area where the water is comming out of

Remove the water cover, inspect gasket surface around sparkplug boss, surface ok replace gasket.
