HI can anyone help me i am stumped. I have a 1987 evinrude 110 power trim, i recently had a fuel problem had to pump the fuel ball to get up to speed. I changed the fuel line, cleaned carbs, replaced vro pump and then tried to start the motor and it would not fire. The battery ran low trying to start it so not thinking i hooked up a battery charger with the cables still connected to the engine and i fried the starter solenoid. Then I checked the spark and i only get spark in one cylinder now (although i checked spark a few days before this and the spark did not seem normal on any of the cylinders). I swaped the wires from the sparking coil to one that wasn't sparking and i got spark. Could I have fried the power pack also? I don't think that the starter solenoid being fried would have any effect on the spark issue, right now i am just jumping across the solenoid to fire the motor and test spark. I am using an automotive spark tester that you put in the wire and clip the other end onto the existing plug is this the right tool to use a for a marine engine? Any suggestions would be greatly appreaciated thanks.
