Motor 1984 65hp evinrude.

I had the boat out today and i started to hear a developing knock at high rpm's. my question is. if the problem is cought soon enough, will i be able to change the bereings without any other issues? (crank turn, bore, rings, ect..)
I did a compression check and all numbers came back between 100-110psi.

Ive done many small blocks. but never a two stroke. would this be consider a job for an expert? bering s in a Small block chevy are a piece of cake. pulling a powerhead cant be too bad, can it?

You shouldn't have any trouble at all. Just follow the manual (OE) and you'll be fine. Figuring out which bearing it is, without tearing it down, may be the hardest part. Or even figuring out if it's a bearing in the powerhead or lower unit. And don't think that just because the noise seems to be coming from the top that it can't be in the lower.
