oil injector

I have a 1991 (I think) evinrude 40 hp motor and would like to know how to disconnect the oil injector.

You mean how to disable the oiling portion of the VRO pump.<br /><br />Disconnect the oil inlet nearest the vro pump and plug the line off.<br /> Disconnect the two wires under the engine cover from the low level sensor in the oil reservoir.This will disable the low oil alarm circuit.<br />Disconnect the amphenol plug that the vro wire harness leads to which will disable the vro alarms.<br />Mix 50:1 using TCW3 in fuel tank.<br />Disconnect the fuel hose inlet nearest the vro pump and prime the fuel line unitl a hint of the oil mix from fuel tank reaches and weaps out.<br />Reconnect the fuel hose inlet to vro.<br /><br />With the key in the 'on' position ,engine not running,ground the tan temp sensor lead to the engine block and insure that the overheat alarm sounds.<br /><br />Most importantly,don't forget to mix at 50:1 in the fuel tank in the future.
