i have a black box on the motor.the number on it: 821889 a46 2421it has 4 wires..black,brown,purple and black with a yellow stripe, it sits just below and left of the oil tank.it is a 2001/2 model motor,4 cyl. 2-stroke.serial no. op175??? (i cannat see ???)what do think it is????/

don't know for sure but sounds like a voltage regulator

It could also be part of the warning alarm system. Are you having any troubles or do you just want to know what the part is?
