1986 70 HP Evinrude Carburetors

The engine starts good then either dies or especially dies when put into gear. Have cleaned carburetors, but feel I have missed something. Can someone advise an old sarge. Need to go fishing.

Sarge,<br /><br />There are allot of posts on that subject.<br /><br />Use the search function (in red) above and use the search words "engine bogs on acceleration".<br /><br />Make sure to only look in the Johnson/Evinrude section.

Welcome to Iboats Sarge233. <br /><br />what is your idle set at? Is the engine warming up? And finally are you using the correct oil:gas mix. <br /><br />I am assuming you cleaned the carburetors correctly to manuel specs. And everything mechanical with the engine is correct.. timing ect ect..
