Last winter I found a steal of a deal on a Ballistic ss prop. on Iboats ($64.00) 10 1/8x15 for my 98 25hp 2cyl. Evinrude. I installed the prop. but the engine would only turn 4900 rpm, I raised the motor 1 inch I then replaced the stock reed valves with boyseen valves, I also picked up a 30/35hp intake manifold from T/C Outboard, I then tried several differant main jets, found 53D gave me the best plug read. now the motor will turn 5450 rpm @ 31.6 mph, an increase of 550 rpm is not bad, :) however I think my carb. is holding me back. My 25 has a "TR" style carb. the 28sp,30, and 35hp 2cyl. use the "SV" style carb. Is there a bore size differance? Inoticed the hole in the 30/35hp intake manifold is larger then the 25hp. If rejetted could I use an "SV" carb. from a 1997 3cyl. 50hp?
