? about the battery

1983 90hp v4 Johnson.<br />Does the battery charge someway from the motor?<br />If not, how often should i charge it?<br />I don't want to be one of "those" guys at the bottom of the ramp not starting.

if planing to use my boat the next day, i usually put the charger on the night before. just to be safe. i also start on muffs before leaving home. did all this just recently, got launched, and no tale tell, had good stream in the driveway. back on the trailer.

If working properly, yes, it does charge when running. You can verify this with a voltmeter. Take a voltage reading across the battery when the engine is not running. Then take one with it running. Should see a rise in voltage if it's charging...
