Default Mariner 2.4L Compression

I have a 1988 Mariner 2.4L Offshore (240 hp), and I was wondering what the compression should be. I checked the compression (with the motor cold) when I bought the motor 3 seasons ago, and it varied from 120 to 125 lbs overall. How much compression should this motor have? It seems to run pretty strong, but it's no spring chicken. Thanks!!
