Just purchased a 69 Larson with a 1972 140 hp Mercury. The boat need some work, the gas tank is missing, I need help matching the tank to the motor. Will an off brand tank work, or what do I look for in a Mercury tank ?
you can use any aftermarket tank, just use mercury fittings on it,its not a real problem, i'm sure your orginal merc tank was steel??,dont buy another steel one plastic ones' these days are far superior,in fact i bought some from k-mart last week for 15.00 6 gal moller, good tanks and cheap too!!jim
