Well heres my deal , I am busier than a ..... fill in the blanks , anyway I leave for a trip up North for Eyes the end of next week and when I changed my lower unit lube I had water! I ran the boat today and it runs good except the two nickle sized exhaust vent holes above the water line near the mount pivot have water coming out of them , I dont know if this is normal or very very bad I dont remember seeing water come out of there in the past. Will running the boat next weekend cause alot more damage than just replacing a seal kit!!I will install the seals when I get back. I changed the lube after I ran today and yes it is a little milky. I figure I could change it again a few times during the trip but what kind of risk am I taking.

As far as the exhaust relief holes . Water coming out of them is A OK . Normal.

Id be sure the drain/ fill screw washers are in good condition .

And keep an eye on your lower unit lube. If the oil you drained looked milky, it may be.

Where a little water got in by the screw seals .

Alot of people dont change them, as they should. ie: when you change lower unit oil.

As long as it shifts and operates normally .

You should be fine .

After your trip you can reseal/ try to see what problem is.

Good- Luck,

KYHunter :)
