What do you use to lube outboard mounting bolts to prevent them from "siezing"?

I had to use a heat gun on the bracket to loosen mine...how to prevent this in the future?

Is there a particular brand/type you find to work well?

agrazela,
The best is the permatex brand. I come from an automotive back ground and thats all i use. My father who is a 30yr ASE cert. master tech swears by it and he is building a kit plane in south florida(salt air and water) it works for him.

you should be able to pick some up at any auto parts store in a tube or jar w/brush for under $10

I also use it on my boat

hope this helps
Eric

Many products will work to a point. In the power plant industry for our saltwater submersibles ,we used no-oxide grease which is quite thick and fibrous. It holds up very well at keeping bolt threads from becoming a problem.
