Here is the million doller question I am wondering is to keep the vro on my 1988 90 hp or disable it and run 50:1 out of the tank. Vro is still working but when I bought this motor the alarm was disconnected and now I have no safety. I imagine the alarm was cut for a reason. Any comments would be appreciated.

Reconnect the wires and see what happens. The earliest VROs had problems which were ironed-out by 88.

Disable and bypass it. I did on my 88 175gt and am thrilled to death. See my post below.

contact me with any questions or if I can help.

some people swear by the old fashion way i have an 88 200hp and the vro works well for me but you absolutely should hook up the alarm its not worth blowing your motor..its sort of a preference weather to trust the vro or not
