I'm mounting a motor with amplified ignition and electric shift (yeah I know, but it was cheap 
). I bought the boat and motor from different parties. The 1976 boat has an OMC tach 122551. The tach has a sweeping needle (like magneto tachs) rather than a rotating one. The back is blue plastic like modern gauges. It has a black and a gray wire coming out of it with a terminal for the light. There is no pole switch or power lead. Will that work? What will? There is a gray tach wire at the remote, but what is it's signal? Is there a wiring diagram available online? (I'd just try it, but don't want to chance frying the amp.)<br /><br />This motor has no tilt tube for steering or power trim. Naturally I'd like both. I know the gearcase won't mount to anything newer than 1978, but the power trims to 1977 really sucked! Can I mate a 1978+ clamp bracket and PT/T to my midsection?
