Need Year and Oil/Fuel Mixture for 18HP Johnson Seahorse

I just bought this motor. No manual came with it. I believe it is a 1958, but want to make sure. I also need the fuel ratio and spark plug gap. Thanks! Any links for more info on this motor is greatly appreciated.<br /><br />Model Number FD-11<br />Serial Number 1585444

That is a 1957 Johnson 18HP model number. 18HP Johnson Model Guide <br /><br />If you hit that red search link up this page and enter "FD-11", or "1957 18HP", it should keep you reading for awhile.<br /><br />If you want to touch up the motor, try nymarine.ca . If you get stuck on finding parts, or just want to do some more research, check with Bill at maxrules.com<br /><br />I'd use 25:1 87 US Octane to TCW-3 oil.<br /><br />Champion J4C @ .030<br />Spark Plug Chart
