Old Evinrude outboard motor

I have an old Evinrude outboard motor and was hoping someone could tell me the year of the motor based on the serial#.<br />the serial # is 4266-07306<br />it's an Evinrude Elto mate..........<br />any help would be appreciated... thanks

Welcome to Iboats, grumpy.<br /><br />The 4266 part of the number is the model number. That identifies it as a '38-'41 1.1hp. But I'm not sure that it's right, since that ought to be a "Ranger" I think. A "Mate" was 0.5hp, and had model numbers 4263 and 4264.<br /><br />You might want to have a look over at AOMCI.org.

Hi all,

I have the same motor as Grumpy, a 4266 model. I had it running several years ago and was looking for a spark plug when I saw your post. I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know where I can get parts, or part numbers, if you know.

Oh cool. Another old thread. :D:D

The 1.1 Evinrude is a Ranger and I believe the 1.1 Elto is a Pal, whereas the 1/2 hp Evinrude is the MAte and the 1/2 hp Elto is the Cub.

As far as parts go, try Sea-Way Marine or Engine Blade and Prop.
