Does this engine share many parts with my 1960 rds-22???

I am looking for a donor engine for some parts to complete the rebuild of my 1960 40hp rds-22. I need the shift rods and connector and am trying to convert my short shaft to a long shaft. This engine is a long shaft and I'm hoping the bits will bolt straight on. Also, would the cylinder head be interchangeable? Thanks in advance guys, John.

I am such a numpty!!! The model number is 35521 and the serial number is 50304. Can anyone tell me if the parts I need are compatible?

That's a 1960 Evinrude. The only difference between that and yours is the colour of the paint and the shape of the hood.<br /><br />Crank and flywheel may be different on one or both of those engines, since they had so much trouble with them and ended up exhanging lots of them.

Thanks Paul. I am gonna bid for this motor, should give me all the parts I need to convert mine to long shaft and supply shift rods to replace those the previous owner welded together. Have started repairing my hull too! Got a good weekend in last week. Took photo's to a friend of my missus who is a "master boatbuilder", been doing it 50 years. Showed him all damaged areas and asked his advice on materials required to make repairs and the procedures. Had expected the worst after problems i'd had with the engine but he gave me a small tube of gel-coat repair and a paint colour chart and sent me on my merry way! New pics coming soon. Cheers.

Good luck with your project boat there,although fishing in the north sea with that tinny seems a bit scary.
