2001 ficht 200 cut out, fires but won't run

Model # E200FPXSIF<br /><br />Engine was running fine and cut out while idling, tried to restart and it fires but won't stay running. The engine will actually run if I hold the key in the start position, (I don't feel comfortable doing that for long) but as soon as key is turned to run it cuts out. I got the diag software and have two intermittent codes 17 and 26. They are related to low voltage, still waiting on service manual to arrive to check these out. Starter is cranking fine and Motor Monitor is reading 12.5 V not running. I cleared codes, but same results. Any suggestions or help is much appreciated!<br /><br />Best,<br />Joe

If you don't have the manual and supplement to troubleshoot step by step, you need to order them.<br /><br />There is a possiblity that you have an internal EMM problem, the circuits that control the 40 volt system. When you crank the motor and hold the key to start, you are running injector and ignition circuits thru a voltage doubler, called a start assist circuit. When you let go of the key, the EMM is not switching the 40 volts from the stator. A weak stator can also give similar symptoms, as can bad grounds, connections, and wiring.

You need 2 manuals for your 2001 FICHT. The 2000 manual and the 2001 supplement.<br /><br /><br />FICHT 2001 sevice manual supplement for mid-year 2000 and 2001 motors - #787132
