Can anyone give me a "list" of what to ask a dealer when purchasing a new boat ,warentees, service, extra fees whatever you can think of to help me. Also, what not to say to them and what to watch out for . I know the old saying you dont see whats wrong with the house until its yours and I want to avoid this as best as possible .I don't want a steel on my boat but I dont want to be ripped off either . I'm looking at an ANGLER 180F CC thanks for the help
What materials were used for stringers? Wood? Glass? Is there any wood at all in this hull? Where? What length of hull warantee, and what exactly is covered? Gellcoat, cracking, delamination? What length of motor watantee? What is not covered under this warantee?Dry weight of hull with enigine, with and without trailer? Will my present truck tow it without ruining it?(Don't trust the salesman here!! Get the above weight, and call you auto mechanic, and axe him). What kind of fuel economy can I expect to have?Got brain damage tonight, can't think of anything else right off.

GETDANET,Ask to be taken on a tour of their service department. If they won't show it to you, LEAVE!!Ask to talk to some of the technicians, if they won't let you-LEAVE!!I think you have the right questions to ask. It's just a matter of getting to the right people to ask.Ask for some customer referrals.
The typical response of most boat dealers is "this is a 50 mph boat". The key question are: how does it ride and what's the cruising speed. I would always recommend a test ride if your not familiar with the boat before signing anything. I remember test driving a Kencraft Challenger (21 ft) with a Mercury 135 hp with no speedometer. I was told this was a 50 mph boat. It barely stayed on plane at 3500 RMP, but we were going at 50 MPH at full throttle, or so I was told. My current boat at the time was a Scout 172 with a 115 HP Yamaha (A true rocketship), needless to say, I kept my Scout. Moral to the story: TEST DRIVE IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, MOST OWNERS ARE DISSAPONTED BY UNDERPOWERED BOATS.
