I have been getting conflicting info from Evinrude Factory manual, after market manuals & other posts on forums about what wot rpm should be. (V-6 carb'ed) Can anybody shed some light on this for me? Thanks in advance, Mike

I'm sure most people hear will tell you that you're engine should be propped to turn 6000 RPM's at WOT.

The rev limiter is at either 6200 or 6700 depending on which system you have. Shoot for 6000 with an average load.

Without knowing more about your hull, set up and specified use that's a good starting point.

I have a 1997 johnson 150 and max rpm in the manual states 5500 rpm. They reccomend you be proped to turn close to the max rpm stated in the manual. If you don't have a manual call the tech. support line on the evinrude web site and the tech. will tell you for sure.

2600

5500 is border line lugging that motor. For longest, and happiest, engine life 6000 is your target rpm.

On performance hulls its not unusual to see them at or very near the limiters.

Make sure you always use Champion plugs. The 60* motors are pretty touchy about that.
