Hello, just wanting to know if any one here can help me out. I recently got a hold of an old '58 18 hp fastwin. I rebiult the carb and the thing started on the third pull of the rope! I about fell over from shock. My question is the two control knobs for the carb, what are they and how to properly set them. The larger knob goes to the bottom of the bowl on the carb, I take it that this one is for the gas. The smaller one goes to the jets in the barrel. I set both of them a turn and a half from closed, people I have talked to tell me to move them the same, I guess they are right because I don't have a clue. My current settings have to be close because it always starts on the first or second pull, but it doesn't want to idle very well and seems to lack power at full throttle but runs smooth and all day in the middle.
