28 hp evinrude shaft length

I have a 1987 Evinrude long shaft motor that I want to change to short shaft. Can I just remove the section above the propellor or is there more to it than that. Will I need additional parts or will removing parts do the trick? jerrymarkey@comcast.net

You will need a different driveshaft, water pipe and shift rod, at least, Jerry.<br /><br />Check with tcoutboard.com about swapping for used parts.<br /><br />Good luck. :)
