I am getting a no oil signal on my 1992 evinrude 150 at 4500 rpm's and higher. I have cleaned out to oil tank and pumped new oil into the vro. I also checked all the lines for leaks. Also checked all the fuel lines for leaks. I do not want to buy a new vro since they are $300.00. I would like to know if this is something I should worry about or should I just bypass the vro and mix. This eems to be a very much talked about item...this VRO...."is it worth keeping or not"I would like to know if anyone else knows of what I might can do and also if anyone might know where I might be able to pick up a lower proced vro ....maybe used....or could the problem be the sensor. Also I can idle the engine up to 5000 rpms in netural and the signal will not come on. Hope someone out there can help. Thanks for any reply

One other question....if I run 50:1 oil ratio in my fuel just to be on the safe side till I figure out this problem, will this fowl my plugs out running oil in gas and vro doing its thing?

motors have run just fine on 50:1 premix for decades. you will sleep well at night doing it, never worrying about the VRO failing again.( twice in my case). Others will chime in that it is a good system, that is, if the oil tank doesn't sludge up, if the hoses don't suck air, if, if, if if, if. I just said chuck it. easy enough to premix. I just left the unit in place to pump gas(premix) but disconnected the oil line and the oil warning wires. PS you are very lean when running 5000 in neutral/no load. it's not good because lean means lean gas AND lean oil. Harvey
