I haven't run this engine in over a year, and I can't remember what the mixture is supposed to be. 32:1 rings a bell, but I can't seem to find the owner's manual around to look it up. Got spoiled with a year and a half of yamaha oil injection. all I had to do was keep the reservoir topped off! all this thinking and measuring....

Also, when I was last using this boat, every now and then, the motor would kick out of gear for a bit, sometimes at very in opportune times. does this engine have a solenoid shifted transmission or something?

Thanks

Hi, oil should be 50:1 I beleive, you might want to check your cable to see if you've picked up some slack and adjust as needed ;)

Any OMC/BRP product made after 1963 is specified for a 50:1 mix, Woody. MCM is right on.

That includes a few that originally called for 100:1 during the late 80s.
