Evinrude 90 hp wont start

Hello guys. My 84 Rude 90hp has a intermitent starting problem. It left my stranded the other day on the river. I believe its the key switch but want yall's opinion. When it acts up, the key wont do anything, not even click the starter. Tilt/trim dosent wort either. But other accessories do work that dont go thru the switch, ie radio, livewell, lights. Also the lights do NOT dim as I try to start the motor. I tried moving the forward/reverse control while tring to start it without success. I used the trolling motor to go the several miles back to the launch and then tried the motor and it started like always.I couldnt repeat the malfunction. I dont think the motor was hot or anything like that we had been fishing with the motor off for several hours. Thanks, Rudy.

Rudy,<br /><br />To see if its the ign. switch you could unplug the red connection on the wiring harness and see if it will start by hotwiring it at the starer solenoid.<br /><br />Mike

Take the wing nuts off the battery, and use brass, or stainless steel nuts, if you haven't already. Check all ground connectios.
