2 stroke premix ratio?

I have a 2 stroke 40hp Merc on my boat, I am supposed to run it at 50/1 and I have a 6 gal. tank. BUT if I run Amsoil synthetic oil that says 100/1 on 8 oz bottles, how much to put in? I've been putting 1 pint(16 oz)/ or 2, 8 oz. bottles per 6 gal tank. Runs great. Thanks, Heinz

Your running at 50:1 with an oil that was specifically designed to run at 100:1, Youre not getting the benifit of the oil mixed this way. If you are WOT most of the time, My personal request would be to mix 1 bottle per 5 Gals. Aprox 80:1. Use just one bottle next time.

OK thanks! I'll try that next time, see if maybe I can get more than 27 kts out of her! :)

Oh, ya, you are going to get another 10 MPH buy changing the mix ratio back to 100:1!<br /><br />Dont expect any change! :D :D
