How about .030 on the plugs and .020 on the points?

DHP

Re: Evinrude Model 4434

4434 is a 1950 7.5hp Fleetwin. They've got the flyer for that year over at www.oldomc.de which has most the info on it.
Other specs I've got around (in addition to DHPMARINE's):
Plugs: Champion J6C (was J6J)
Fuel/Oil mix: I think this was origninally 16:1, but revised to 24:1.
Price: $190.00
Lower unit fluid: 90 weight outboard gearcase lube.
WOT rpms: 7.5hp@4000 (3500-4500)

The 7.5 had a bit of a reputation for throwing connecting rods, which went on to breaking holes in the block. Go no leaner than 24:1, and never rev the engine in neutral (ie, don't abuse it), and you should be fine.

Anything else you're after?

Also, thanks for posting the Lightwin owner's manual. That was very interesting reading!

Well, that is a 1950 7.5hp engine, Tom.

It probably uses Champion J6C plugs gapped, as DHPM says, at .030". Set points at .020".

Fuel mix is 24:1

Good luck. :)
