Under the stator there is a set of wires that run down next to the throttle, make a plug connection and wrap under the back of the motor. The throttle had rubbed these wires(red white and green wires) almost into. As soon as I respliced them the motor cranked up without hessitation (had been hard to start) and seemed to run smoother with more power. What are these wires to and could they be causing my power loss as well? Please help

Those are the wires from the stator to the powerpack. Breaking or shorting out these wires will have a negative impact on the ignition. Most likely is the cause of your power loss.
