leaking gearcase?

have a 1969 jonny 115 and water comes out between the lu and the top part.i was told that this isnt a problem.i have been running it for four years and no problems.my question is why does it laek right at that seam and is it something i should fix or is it ok.thanks for any input.<br /> ***1969 115 jonny 18' winner***<br /> ***THURSDAY***

On new motors, the only thing that prevents leakage is the paint. Once the gearcase has been removed the first time, it usually starts leaking there. You don't have to worry about it because the water has already passed thru the powerhead. That's water escaping with the exhaust.
