I have a 1994 120 hp evinrude E120TLERC. Recently the main fuse by the starter solinoid has started overloading. It does'nt seem to happen with any regularity. More on a random basis. I have tried isolating trim wiring harness etc.Just can't seem to isolate fault or overload condition.

Thanks,
Ace

Re: Evinrude main fuse problem

Make sure your battery cables are clean and tight and check every ground wire you can find on the motor for the same. Look for any chaffed wires. I have the same motor and I have replaced a few wires on mine due to wiring problems in the harness somewhere. I've also worked on a couple with tilt&trim wiring problems, so I've come to the3 conclusion that the wireing on that motor is not A-One stuff. Keep searching, you'll find the problem.
