The Tachometer (for rpm) would be connected to the tach wire that comes from the alternator. <br /><br />The Speedometer (mph) has nothing to do with the engine, and if you buy a speedo, you should make sure that you get a sender unit with it. These can be a pitot tube, or a paddle wheel (most of the time) and will only give you a speed reletive to the water. (A GPS will tell your speed accuratly, it's not affected by water movement like tides or river current)<br /><br />BTW, what part of the world is Bluffton in?
