water coming in to cylinder??????????????

i have a johnson 9.5 sea horse ,the bottom cylinder keeps filling with water when it is not running can any one tell me what the problem is please.

Welcome!!<br /><br />How is the motor sitting? On the boat verticle -- on the boat tilted up? On the floor laying down? A bit more info please!

it is up right on the boat iv just took the head off and its coming in through the exhaust port have u any idear what the problem might be

I had a similar problem, and it turned out to be the exhaust cover gasket, leaking into the exhaust manifold and running into the bottom cylinder.
