interchangable parts???

:rolleyes: where can I find an interchange book??...or some where that would tell me if such & such year motor parts will bolt up to different year motors????....what I would to know is ,..will a lower unit off a 1979 55hp. evinrude will bolt up to a 1991 50hp. power head???.......thanks,alot,.. Semper-Fi.............

I have never seen a book like that for outboards. hollanders makes them for auto/truck stuff or did when I was doing wrecking yards. if ya find one post it.
