My tilt no longer works, put a CMC on my boat & now want to remove power tilt assembly. After I unhook from the fluid lines & from transom bracket, what should I do with the 2 lines that ran from the tilt unit, leave attached as is, wrap with tape, remove totally by unhhoking from tilt cylinder? Just need guidance. Thanks.

John if you remove everything, your engine is going to kick up when you go to reverse. Look around for a stock shock cylinder to go in there. The stock shock will also help prevent the engine from slamming up in case you plow something in the water at full tilt.

Hi there, I am wondering what a CMC is that you put on your boat? Newbie, I to have a tilt and trim in non working order tried to buy one today, only to find out it was the wrong one. Was told it was the right one forsure. Gotta get a refund. My kicks up too, if you go in reverse at high speeds, if you go slow its okay. and so far I have just had nothing but problems. Just bought the boat last week and wish I didnt. Hard time finding good advice. except from this forum. Glad I found you guys.
Anyways dont cut off the lines, I will take them for mine. Just take off the motor part if you can. Give me a price. If you dont want to use it.
Also what is a stock shock? How do you find it? Where and how much? I am new and havent gotta a manual for my motor yet... still not sure I am keeping this thing, if I cant find parts for it. Its no good to me. Fabrication isnt my thing and my husband has no time.
