no neutral

i have a 68 johnson hydro electric drive model #trl 10-10r no neutral but good forward and reverse. where should i start?

check the voltage on the green an blue wires going into the gearcase. 12 v on one only for neutral, 12 v on both for reverse.<br /><br />I think that your problem will probably be dirty contacts in the selector switchs on your remote controls.<br /><br />Also be sure that you are useing "BRP Premium Blend" gearcase oil. There are no substitutes here.

lark 2004,<br />thank you for the info! i have 12v on one side of the solenoid and 12 volts on both for forword. don't know what fluid is in gearcase will that make much of a difference? what do you think?

hydroelectric shifts should have 0v for forwards.<br /><br />The Gearcase oil is VERY important. The wrong sort will stuff up the hydualic presures that make this type of gearcase change gear.
