Bought a cottage and acquired an outboard motor. It is too heavy for me. It is white, ser# 348345, Model # FD16A. Any information, value would be appreciated.
Just found the site. It's great.

Welcome to Iboats!
Johnson model FD-16

Year: 1962
HP: 18
WOT RPMS: 4500
Displacement: 22.0 cubic inches
Cylinders: 2
Weight: 77 lbs
Gear ratio: 12:21
Spark plugs: Champion J4C gapped at .030" (Canadian Tire carries them)
Fuel/Oil mix: 24:1 87 octane gas to TC-W3 outboard oil.

You won't find a much lighter 18hp out there. :) Value depends on condition (no collectors value, as there's still many out in regular service).

Re: old Johnson Sea Horse

Thank you for the reply. I am planning to drop down to a 9.9 or even a 6 HP as I have a little 16' Springbock. I have my 6HP Johnson kicker on it now but would like that moptor back on the kicker bracket on the 1700 Crestliner. Thanks again. Great site
