120 hp VRO low vacuum?

marina says low vacuum on lower two cylinders. But compression OK. says minor scoring on all four and wants 2000 to rebore. I'm thinking it is something else.<br />symptoms: will start easily but dies when you put it in gear.

If I were in your situation I would clean and overhaul with kits all 4 carbs then do a link & sync as per a factory manual. Then see how she runs.

Linc & sync is the steps taken to ensure that all carburators are operating in perfect unison and the throttle advance is syncronized with the timing advance of your motor. A good manula will give a step by step procedure for doing this.
