Default 200 Evinrude Mystery Part

I was performing maint. on my motor this weekend and noticed a part that I wasnt familar with. It is on the bottom of the motor facing the transom. It has two lines going to it and it has some type of relief valve. It looks like a tire valve. I tried to trace the lines and couldnt find were they went.

With a tire valve, that's the fuel primer solanoid.

Is there any maint. that needs to be done on this part? Do you test the PSI of the system and if so what should the PSI be?

If its the primer solenoid, DO NOT PUT AIR IN IT!!!When you say its at the bottom of the motor -- do you mean its toward the bottom of the powerhead or actuall at the bottom of the motor itself?Actually I cant think of anything on any 200 that requires air pressure. Be careful!Whats the model number of your motor?

Think of it as a choke. There are three fuel lines attached to it. The larger one of the three supplies fuel to the primer solenoid. The two smaller lines branch out to other small lines which carry fuel to the six (in your case) intake manifold reed plates whenever the ignition key is pushed in when cranking the engine. That air valve type fitting is used for fogging the engine etc. And as Dhadley states, do not apply air pressure to it.

Brad...Is this a Ficht(DI)engine or a carbed engine, you didn't state a year. I would also guess it's the primer if it's a carbed motor, and since you say it is in the front of the motor, it probably is the primer. But if this is a Ficht(DI), then it could also possibly be the fuel pressure test, shraeder valve(also looks like a tire valve), but it is in a different spot than you mentioned.
