40hp Evinrude WorkTwin identification

I acquired in trade a 40hp Evinrude WorkTwin, long shaft, with electric start. I am now trying to get the motor up and running (deer season is over) and I CANNOT locate a Serial#, stamped or plate. I believe it is 80's model but without some numbers I cannot get parts. Can photos of the motor be used to ID it or is there another way?

Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried locating the aluminum freeze plug on the engine block? The #'s may be located there

I'll look on the plugs and see MCM. As for the photos, I do not see how I can post them on thei board. Can e-mail them if you like.
