So again I am not the most knowledgable about this engine or any boat engine but I am slowly learning. Boat was running just a few days ago but when I went to turn it over today it was a no go. It just wouldn't catch. Thought about the carb and followed the fuel all the way to the carb where it all the sudden stops. unplug the fuel line and it squirts out of the line from the pressure, so it looks like something is blocking the fuel from the carb. Now my question, is there anyway I can unblock, or figure out what is blocking the fuel without taking the carb out? It is a real pain in the butt so I would rather not untill I actually have to.

Thanks for the help

Try tapping on the side of the carburetor with a screwdriver handle. Don't slam it, but just tap it.

It's likely that the needle is stuck in the seat in the carburetor, which will block the flow of fuel.

The tapping may release the needle. You'll need to replace the needle and seat. When you do that, you might as well clean the carb and install a carburetor kit in it. It's not that difficult, but you'll need a manual.

The problem could also be a defective fuel pump. You can tell this by pulling the hose from the connection at the carburetor, putting it in a bottle, then cranking the engine. Gas should pulse out of the hose into the bottle.

Lemme see if I got this straight Lampwick....when you unplug the fuel line from the carb, it sprays all over the place?

Did ya' open the bowl drain plug and see if there was fuel in the bowl?

If you have the primer bulb pumped up snug, and you pull the fuel line from the carb, you will get a sprit of gas. We need to find out if the fuel is acctually in the bowl. If there is no fuel in the bowl, that would most likely mean the float or needle is stuck closed. If so, some lite tapping on the bowl may dislodge the offending problem.

On the other end, did you check for spark at the cylinders? If you got no spark, disconnect the kill switch or lead to the key switch and see if that makes a difference.
