I am looking at a 1986 25' CC boat mfg'd by Spacecraft Boats. Does anyone know anything about them. I know that they are no longer doing business. Are their boats any good?? The one I am looking at has a 235 OMC Seadrive on it.

Be afraid! Be very afraid!
I used to work for a spacecraft dealer back inthe late 80s early 90s.
VERY poorly built boat! Scary wiring!
Also I dont think you can afford to put fuel in a 2 thisty five today!
Try and stay away from any seadrive power.
Just my 2 cents worth, but I know of people who actually had
"accidental fires" so they could collect from insurance and not have to try and sell these boats on the open market!

Re: Spacecraft Boats

If they are the Spacecraft boats I remember they were made in the Miami/Homestead Fl area and sold in a huge lot on U.S. 1. They had some models of a 24' I/O which sold for $4,995.00. They tended to be underpowered for their size and looked to be very cheaply made.

South Florida was and maybe still is a heaven for outfits to make cheap imitations of better quality boats. The outfits buy or copy a mold, turn out as many copies as they can push, go out of business and move on. They are known as Hialeah specials.
