In the "start" position, where should the roller contact the brass "wedge" bolted to the underside of the flywheel. There are 2 lines on this wedge. It seems as tho there is a variety of positions for this to be bolted on. The wedge has 4 bolt holes. Thus the question, Should the roller contact the wedge at the lines in the "start" position.<br /><br /> :D edited for spelling

No, the carb's butterfly valve shaft (ie, throttle shaft) should just begin to move when the roller is between the two lines on the wedge (cam). You should amplify the movement of the throttle shaft with a stiff wire. <br />To adjust the opening time, loosen the two bolts that hold the cam to the armature plate.<br /><br />This is called "link and sync". Ohmmmmmmm :p
