I recently had a run-in with a submerged rock with my 1981 Johnson 90 HP V4. Not only did the prop get dammaged, but the forward end of the gear casing got a dent in it and it's now locked in forward gear. It's running normally (with the prop replaced) other than the fact that the shifting mechanism is jammed. Does this call for a lower unit replacement or is there hope for a repair. PS - if I will need to replace the lower unit, is there availability of "jet" type lower units (as opposed to the standard propellor type).
