I have a 1985, 150 hp Johnson gt that bogs down when trying to acclerate from idle in gear. If you hit the choke it takes off fine. It idles fine and runs fine throught out the powerband and starts easily. I had a local marina tell me to adjust the idle up and I did and it ran fine for 3 weeks than I had it out this past week and it started having the same stalling problem. I do not know if makes a difference, but it was 100 degrees out with 94 percent humidity. It has 14.5 by 26 raker prop. I did know if that prop could make it bogg down?

Welcome!!

Must be a fast boat to be using that big of a prop. All your symptoms point to an issue with the carbs. Lets get those cleaned and new kits installed.

Obviously with that big of a prop the motor must be perfect for the holeshot to be acceptable. What kind of boat? jackplate? Top rpm?

It is a 17.6 foot Dyna trak fish in ski with a jack plate. It runs around 65 mph with Rpms at 5000.
